When my daughter turned one, I asked for a cake decorating kit for Christmas. I had this dreamy idea that I’d whip up beautiful creations straight away… turns out it was a lot harder than it looked. There were wonky edges, split buttercream, and plenty of “why did I think I could do this?” moments.

I packed it away for a while.

A few years later, I started making cakes for family birthdays, just for fun. Something clicked. The more I practised, the more I fell in love with the process. Family and friends kept saying the same thing: “You need to do this properly. Take the leap.”

The real turning point came after I left a toxic work environment. One sleepless night, wide awake and full of “what now?” energy, I decided ,why not? I wasn’t quite ready to jump straight into custom cakes, so I started with cupcakes.

Within a day or two, I had my first sale. Then another. And another.

That little late-night decision became Bake My Day.

Three years later, hundreds of orders have gone out the door, countless celebrations have been part of my journey, and what started as a leap of faith has grown into something bigger than I ever imagined.

And honestly? I'm only just getting started.
